- The treatment will begin with the patient lying on their back on the treatment table with their arm extended for testing.
- The allergy testing consists of placing various vials or substances of possible allergens into the hands of the patient and then testing the strength of the arm for each item.
- After testing, the patient will sit up while holding all the vials for the substance being treated for in their hands along with a few other necessary vials.
- Then a series of points on each side of the patient's spine are activated through acu-pressure while holding specific vials for each series.
- Next the actual acupuncture begins with needling certain points on the patient's hands, elbows, calves and feet.
- Then the patient rests for approximately 30 minutes while the needles are in (infants will only keep the vials in their socks, no needles will be kept in)
- After the time is up, the needles are removed and the patient avoids the allergen for the next 25 hours.
